In Search of CFNM - Naked Bike Ride
Yesterday, Saturday June 12th 2004, saw the 4th Annual World Naked Bike Ride. Billed as a protest against Oil Dependency it is also an excellent excuse to get naked in public in city centres across the World.<br/>History has shown that where there are naked men clothed women follow so naturally we went down to Hyde Park in London to record the UK gathering from the point of view of our own specialist interest!
The pre-ride meeting point had been arranged for Speaker's Corner, Hyde Park at 8.30pm for a 9pm start. That's right, just as the Sun is going down!
I must point out that this meeting point is off the beaten track so whatever some people were pretending, the ONLY reason to be here is to see naked people.
There are 2 professional news gathering teams here, both with female interviewers.
At this stage no one is sure if the Royal Parks' Police are going to intervene, as they always have done in the past, and this man is the first to get totally naked.
The Police, who had been there just an hour earlier, were conspicuously absent at this point.
I've seen the female photographer on the left at other events. You'll see quite a bit of her.
The chap with the beard and glasses is Richard Collins, aka the Cambridge Naked Cyclist. If you go to the university city of Cambridge he can be seen regularly cycling naked along the cobbled streets.
Several of the questions were of the "so would you consider yourself a naturist?" type.
She never looked down, while I was watching her!
At 8.30 more and more people were getting naked. The girl here bides her time. It is getting chilly by the way.
This is Steve Gough. The ex-Royal Marine is famous for walking the entire length of the British Isles naked, being arrested and jailed several times for his trouble.

This lady was like a kid in a sweet shop, running around taking hundreds of photos and then giggling with excitement.
It was pretty bloody cold chaps.
Remember, these people went out of their way to walk past the naked cyclists.
8.59pm. Everyone prepares for the off.
Bang on 9pm they head off to cheers and applause.

Richard Collins did an excellent job of setting things up with the park police, and there was a full escort around the perimeter. The police cyclists remained in full uniform.
One cyclist left his clothes with friends without telling them where the trip was to end up, thus leaving him with a bit of a predicament. He scrounged a white forensic suit from the ever-friendly police. Fancy getting a bike for June 2005?
You may have noticed that last week's pictures were stills taken from video. However as the event became a voyeurs free-for-all we took some hi-res photographs too and here they are.
On the journey the riders past some bicycle couriers who daringly stripped to join in the fun. At the end the riders got dressed and made their way home along London's busy Oxford street...where 2 of them stripped naked again!
